Great American Aquaculture

The Great American Aquaculture celebrated it’s ribbon cutting ceremony last week. It is a new business venture and billed as one of the only facilities of its kind. The salt water fish farm is located in a former button factory in Waterbury, CT and upon completion will be 65,000 square feet.
Owner Eric Pederson said “We’re actually trying to change the way seafood is sourced in this country.” He also noted “that raising European sea bass at his facility will bring a farm to table aspect not seen in our area. We are going to cut out all of the food miles and provide a far fresher fish directly to the grocery store on your corner.”
PAC Group was contracted to renovate the roughly 55,000 sq. ft. of existing industrial building and construct a 9,000 sq. ft. addition to accommodate the land-based recirculating saltwater aquaculture facility. When fully operational, the production facility will be able to provide 300,000 thousand European sea bass a year.
