Overview
After Renovating the patient dwelling and recreation buildings on campus, effectively providing an environment conducive to healing, Silver Hill Hospital felt it was important to create a new and inviting Admissions Building that would be a statement first impression and would allow the staff to efficiently accept new patients. The building provides roughly 11,000 sqft of new structure that includes all the functions related to the admissions process. Great care was taken by the Design team to provide items such as a parking area that is shielded from the street, a covered walkway that passes through a tranquil garden as you approach the main entrance, a spacious reception area that is open and inviting, private patient /family waiting areas and a Family Resource Center set up so that families can access information on mental health related issues. All of this was done while maintaining the residential feel of a New Canaan neighborhood.
